Concert Amelia Cuni, dhrupad vocals

Amelia Cuni set off from Milan for a more then ten years study period with the great Indian masters Ustad Fahimuddin Dagar, Pandit Bidur Mallik en Pandit Dilip Chandra Vedi. She combines in her vocal practice the melodic subtlety of the Dagar tradition and the rhytmical ingenuity of the Mallick gharana.

Amelia Cuni will be accompanied by Nathanaƫl van Zuilen, pakhawaj.

Concert Pt. Ashok Pathak, surbahar

Pandit Ashok Pathak got his musical education from his father Pt.Balaram Pathak. Thee Pathak family is name giver of the gharana known for it's specific style with meend as it's trade mark.

Ashok Pathak is from his mother's side related to the Mallick family. He will be accompanied by Rishabh Dhar on pakhawaj.

Workshop for bowed strings (violin, alto, cello etc.) by Lenneke van Staalen

The violin was succesfully introduced in India in the 18th the expressive violin were a perfect match for the Indian performance practice as a virtuoso solo instrument as well as a serving escort for the voice.

Lenneke van Staalen, Dutch diva assoluta of the Indian violin, conducts a workshop for all players of bowed instruments who want to find out about improvisation in Indian music.

The workshop is open for advanced players as well as absolute beginners.

Workshop dhrupad vocals by Pt. Uday Bhawalkar

Pandit Uday Bhawalkar is not only one of India's most outstanding dhrupad vocalists, he is also a very gifted and much invited teacher. Uday Bhawalkar will conduct a workshop for the advanced as well as for the beginner.

Lecture Amelia Cuni

Amelia will give the audience an inside view of her training in India, her concert and teaching practice in Europe and the specific position of an European dhrupad singer.

Concert by Pt. Uday Bhawalkar, dhrupad vocals

Pt.Uday Bhawalkar studied with Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar en Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, both heirs from the famous family of dhrupadiyas from the formerly princely state of Udaipur in Rajasthan. He is one of the most outstanding exponents of the vocal dhrupad style.

Pt.Uday Bhawalkar is admired for his lucent lyrical style of singing.

Uday Bhawalkar is accompanied by Nathanaƫl van Zuilen on pakhawaj.
